Overwhelmed

To be honest, I don't know if I'll post this...
I'm overwhelmed with life right now, and I don't know why.
I get up every morning at the same time, get my son ready, take him to the sitters, go to work, pick my son up, go home, make dinner, watch TV and read books, then bedtime.
I do this every single day.
I have great friends, family and a job.
I feel guilty for feeling unhappy.
So I fake it.
Pictures can be deceiving.
Everyone compliments me on how happy I look...
I'm crying on the inside.
I obsess over little things that I could have, should have or would have done differently.
That's no way to live.
What if?

My usual answer when someone asks how I am, I'm fine.
They don't want to hear you complain.
They either don't care and are being polite or they relish in the fact that you are unhappy.
I know I have amazing friends that are there to lift me up.
But I don't want to burden them with my problems...

This too shall pass, right?
Keep a positive outlook on life.
Negative thoughts are the devils work...

I just want to breathe again...

Zombies eat brains, that explains so much!

Hi friends!
So, last night in my dreams/nightmares I fought off zombies all. damn. night!
Talk about a sleepless night.
Then a lightbulb went off and I thought to myself.

Self: You should write a blog about this!
Self: You are a genius!
Self: I know:)

I have such good conversations with myself. Most of the time I keep them in my head...

Needless, to say I have ideas bursting out of my head on how to survive a zombie apocolypse.
Dont laugh, it's gonna happen!
How appropriate with it being Halloween soon!
Sidenote: I have no idea what I will be nor my lil man for halloween...
Procrastination at it's best people!

I never finish anyth...

Shiny things distract me. I need to work on that one!
Case in point, as Im typing this I'm doing 45,000 other things.
And I wonder why Im frazzled??

Back to Zombies.
I love a good horror movie! Like, love!
But, no one ever wants to go watch them with me:(

Warning: These are my ridicuclous thoughts with pictures from Pinterest to accompany them.
In no way am I at all serious...

I love this movie! If you don't know where it's from, I'm not sure we can be friends...

Gonna make you think twice before hanging out with me, huh?
Hey, self preservation at it's finest!

Some things that I will need in my survival kit include, but are not limited to:
Guns, duh!
A cute redneck guy that knows how to work a gun.
Why a redneck? They know things! Or someone in the navy, army or marines. Again, cute because if we have to re populate the world, well you know!
Redneck guy must come with a dog. Very Important!! Dogs hear things humans can't.
Make friends with expendable people... Now I sound mean. If we're all running I don't want to be the slowest! sorry, it's just the truth!
Find someone in the medical field to hang with. You will need them. Not picky, vet, nurse, doctor...
Always know where your keys to the car are. This one I will need to work on... I always lose them.

This girl knew where her keys were and it saved her after the adorable zombie girl from next door took a chunk out of her hubby's neck. Way to keep it together chick!

I'm thinking during the zombie apocolypse, coffee will not be readily available. That is a serious downfall... Illegal drugs will have to suffice. Find someone that can make legit drugs or know where they are.

Most importantly food. Im sure at the time I will think of food last, but we will need it! If we can somehow find a way to dig under or end up on the roof of a costco that would be awesome. That is always in my dreams. I like to aim high!

Which brings me to my next necessity. Paint. Apparently Zombies can't read in the these movies. I'm gonna go with it. Walking dead and all, not that smart... Find someone in your posse that can tag a wall up and spell correctly. I will shoot you if you spell something wrong... Just sayin!

Another important thing to bring along that I learned in the movie The Book of Eli. I hated that movie but still. A bible! Its one of the oldest books. Gotta bring that along.

As I type this furiously, I know I am leaving out vital necessities that will come in handy. Please feel free to add to it.

And just so you know, if you get bit. I will not hesitate to shoot you right between the eyes! I would hope you would do the same!

Do you kill people for a living??

Yes, that question was asked this weekend...
Not by me, by my 3 year old to a random stranger playing with his kids at the park!

Here we are running around screaming and jumping from one thing to the next. And, yes in case you were wondering I do run and scream like a 3 year old at the park. What?

All of a sudden my son spots this man, walks right up to him and in his perfectly clear voice he asks "Do you kill people for a living"? My mouth hit the bark chips on the playground! I was praying that the guy wouldn't hear what my child just said. Here I am looking at this man with half shock, half laughter bubbling up. The dad looks at me and says "What"? I responded with "Well, he asked you a question, do you"?? And then off my son runs distracted by a shiny object and leaves me to stammer a response somewhere along the lines of, "no more superhero movies for you, mr". As I walk away, head down... btw, he never answered the question...

You know that story that your parents always told you when you were little? The one where they had to walk to school, uphill both ways in the snow with no shoes on? Gawd, I got that so many times! I got to use one of those lines on my boy yesterday. It was awesome! He had no idea why I was laughing so hard. Other than he thinks I'm crazy mama! Nothing new there!

He gets in the car after I pick him up from the sitters and he says:
Gavin: "You know mama, my friends have a tv in their cars" "It's awesome" "I could watch my cartoons on the way home"
Keep in mind we live .2 miles from the sitters house.
Gavin: "How come we don't have a tv in our car".
Me: "Well, when I was little all I had was your auntie natty to annoy and the seat belt to pretend vacuum and a lil thing called my IMAGINATION to occupy my time.
Gavin: "How boring"
Hmmm, my most adult response was "your face"!

Another one as we are driving to get some coffee the other day.

Gavin: "Mama, go faster, the car next to us is winning"! "
Me: "I can only go as fast as the car in front of me"
and I think in my head, oh my god, I'm my mother!

I wonder what he asks when I'm not around? Life is never boring with my lil man:)

a song that makes my heart smile:)

I am in love with this song!
I tried finding the actual video but it wouldn't let me embed it, enjoy!

I don't think it necessarily goes towards a significant other.

My friends, my family and my sister have been my rock as Im going thru this tough time.

Do you ever have that feeling with a friend that youve known them before?

That your soul recognizes them?
They know what you're thinking and no matter how hard you push them away, they still come back.

Most of my friends I've known for 10+ years.
When times are hard, I push them away.
I don't want them to know I'm hurting, or let them feel sorry for me.
There have been a few lately that keep pushing back and I'm thankful for that.
Not soulmates, but kindred spirits...

Goonies, mustaches and drinks bigger than your head!

So, I went out on Saturday night. Well, I was basically dragged out.
It was 9:30pm and I was ready for bed.
I chugged a coffee and we drove to the big city of Medford, ha!
It's not big, its not even medium...

But, we went to this cool lil place called The Bohemian Club.
It's a restaurant/bar.
Doesn't sound to exciting right?

Then the heavens opened. By heavens I mean double doors that led out to the patio.
Outside were fire pits, people surrounding them and
Goonies was playing on the building across the way! Shut up!
I realize I'm a 12 year old girl that gets excited over this.
c'mon!

Nope, no pictures. Im surprised I didn't pee myself in excitement!
I couldn't think to grab my camera in time.
People might have thought it rude to start snapping away...

Photobucket
While they were texting...

Photobucket
I was entertaining myself. Pretty sure the waiter thought I was funny!

Photobucket
Oh, and then this lil number showed up on the table!
We shared:)
I mean the drink, not katie... she's a lil number too!

The end!
Exciting stuff, right!

Happy Day You!!

Today, is a good day:)
Today, my lil man is 3!
Holy cow, where does the time go??
I remember the day he was born.
I remember getting up every couple hours with him.
Being exhausted!
But loving every minute of it.

If I did any good in my life, it is creating this handsome boy!

"I'll like you for always
I'll love you forever
as long as Im here
my baby you'll be"

Bonus points if you know where that's from???!

He constantly has me in fits of giggles! Whether he says things at the appropriate times or not.

He loves waving to strangers and smiling and saying Hi until they say it back and he will keep repeating himself until he is acknowledged.

If a baby is crying he is instantly worried.
He loves on me when I'm sad.
He's the best snuggler.
He is a genius! No joke!

The facial expressions you make keep me laughing constantly!

And, that smile. The smile that melts my heart and makes me want to give you everything you want! The smile that will break hearts later in life:)

Happy Birthday my love!

in need of a hug...

I'm at a loss for words.
Major life changes happening.
I brought them on myself.
It still hurts tho...

I don't want sympathy, I don't deserve it.
My end goal is to be happy, but Ive hurt people along the way.

Only I can make myself happy.
I am responsible for me.

I need the first two, right now...

Ran a 5k! What??!

So, I originally intended to write this up on the day I actually ran the 5k, but once my butt hit the couch it was adios amigos to anything productive besides The Real Housewives of New York City marathon. Priorities people!
(my beautiful mommy & me)

(the starting line!)

Yes, you read correctly! Well, maybe not entirely true, I tend to stretch the truth a tad, but mostly!! I ran/walked the 5k! Still a feat in itself, because I don't run, ever! I decided on a Monday that I would sign up and ran it, no practice or training on Saturday. The real reason behind it is as follows. My mom is a badass! Seriously! She runs 3 miles a day and occasionally bikes another 2. See what I mean??! Ive tried running with her but can't keep up. You'd think having 20 plus years on her I would stand a chance. Nope, not. at. all! I had a few friends running as well and my goal was to just finish. Cross that line, er two lines. I suffer from asthma. Suffer, now there's a funny word... Basically, my lungs aren't used to any sort of activity other than lugging around my adorable 2 1/2 year old. Long story, short, I finished in 41.35. Now, i know that is no record or anything to brag about especially to all my friends & MOTHER who beat me, but seriously huge for me! I think I will continue this running thing and see where it takes me. No, I will not turn into Forrest Gump! I know you were thinking it. :) Maybe next time I will train a little bit, maybe... Oh, and my mom, the badass, completed it in 30.34! I'm just excited I didn't come in last. FYI: the last persons time was 3:49.02. I so kicked that 99 year olds butt! Granted he had walking sticks... Maybe, I would have been faster with those?? I wont mention the dry heaving at the end of the 5k for those sensitive to bodily fluids.

(brittney and me)

I brought up the idea to my mom about signing up for a triathlon in the summer. I told her she could run it, I would swim it and we could get someone else to bike it. She stated she could bike and I came back with: "in the real world, mom" "not on a stationary bike". Her sense of balance isn't up to par on two wheels and I'm pretty sure training wheels aren't allowed on the triathlon... And the whole swimming in a body of water other than a chlorine filled pool kinda icks me out!:/ Moral of the story, anything is possible when you put your mind to it! Darn it, I always have such good excuses too!

(owie!)

Besos friends:)

Oh, hi there!

So, I am just gonna jump right in and start this bloggy blog thing. Ive been told I'm funny, with my weird, sarcastic and very dry sense of humor. I've had numerous people tell me that if I had a reality show they would watch it. Which doesn't sound very entertaining to me... I am a huge klutz, I get confused often and make weird faces all the time. I have my moments where I crack myself up but lets not take that I'm a stand up comedian. Most of my material comes from movies, tv shows and at the expense of myself or other people. Be warned! This blog is for mature audiences only!

I am a daughter, seester & mommy. I work full time, commute an hour to work (gah) each way and full time mommy. I make dinner every night. No exceptions even if it involves driving through a drive thru to put dinner on the table. *hard stuff right there! I get my LOVE of cooking from my mom. She makes amazing meals with little to no effort. Ive been known to tell what ingredients are in what foods just by tasting them. I rarely follow recipes and never measure. Hence, never the same tasting recipe. I rarely if ever bake. I am a creature of comfort and habit. If I find something I like I stick with it.

So, by reading this blog you may feel free to laugh along with me. If you don't laugh, what's wrong with you?? I kid;) These are the funny tales of my day to day life! Live, Laugh & most importantly LOVE!

Besos friends:)
