just keep swimming...

Yesterday, we went swimming! Well, monkey boy jumped and got propelled around the pool by me. We floated for a bit too:) When I was putting him to bed he said "Thank you for taking me swimming today, mommy, I had fun" Totally made my heart smile!

This weekend has been super so far!!

I started my new job and love it! I get to come home on my 2 hour lunch or lunch with friends!

So, Friday I got off work and came home, cooked dinner while the hubs bathed the stinky monkey. Ate really fast because I had to be at the hacienda @ 7 to help out. Tons of friends came in to say hi and have a cocktail! I love those nights:)

Saturday, we traveled down to the Saturday Market and had tamales and homemade doughnuts, omg, they both were amazing in their own amazing way! No pics on that because apparently I was too busy eating my tamale and trying not to burn my mouth on the pipping hot doughnut! Yes, I shared!

Saturday night, my super beautiful friend sara was in town from Idaho and my super awesome hubby said I could go out for a bit. Which is huge since I go out on fridays I stay home on saturdays. We went to G Street Bar and Grill and had some okay sushi. Wasn't spectacular or anything. But the laughter and giggles with friends are always priceless. I wore a short lil jean skirt and sara almost pummeled me. Apparently she has issues with short skirts... ;)

Anywho, now it's sunday and it's FATHERS DAY!!! Celebrate the men in your lives:) The hubs had to work, so monkey and I went down to opening weekend at the horse races:) He loved watching the horseys run really fast!!

"Nobody makes me bleed my own blood"

Unless you're Ken from American Red Cross and drive a sweet van with comfy lil beds. For reals people this guy was ahhhmazing! I have teeny, tiny little veins that no one can ever find, ever! While I was preggo they had to draw blood from the veins on my hands. Of course they would try every other vein possible because it's too painful to draw from the hand veins. This all being said they usually blew up a couple veins and it looked like I regularly shot up with, whatever drugs people shoot up with... Anywho, the pin prick they did on my finger hurt worse than the needle. My finger throbbed for the rest of the day!! :( I completed my one pint in a lil over 6 minutes, which is pretty dang good! Go me! Kinda worries me tho. Does that mean I could bleed out easier?? Heaven forbid I join a gang or something of that nature...

I did not realized how extremely tired and exhausted and drained I would be! I never would have done this on a Friday if I had known. I couldn't even go out and enjoy my Friday night. I promptly went home and slept like a baby for 12 hours! I can't wait for the next time someone wants my blood. Well, as long as it's the red cross not a vampire or anything weird like that... ;)

Slowly but surely, I'm turning into my mother!

When we were little, my mom would schlep my sister and I around town. To fabric stores, craft stores, flea markets, antiquing. You name it we went in there! We would beg & plead not to go in there. Why do we have to go its. so. boring. Haha, cut to a quite a few years later and much wiser! It is so much fun to see old stuff and reinventing it to "new" stuff!! My friend, Brittney texted me the yesterday and asked what I was doing. I said lets meet downtown with the kids and stroller, have lunch and shop in the little stores!! Literally, I added exclamation points! I was that excited:)










We met at her father in laws antique store and perused there first.



Then we walked down to the Soda Fountain. You can get phosphates for $.25 no joke!! We ate lunch and had some super, yummy & delicious phosphates.



monkey was a little shy at first. What movie is it where the kid where's sunglasses when uncomfortable?? That's my son!



Next on our adventures was Blind Georges. They have the best popcorn & ice cream!!





Lastly, we hit up this park that's in a very weird location. Very busy street and railroad tracks... okayyyy...







As if that wasn't enough fun, we came home and we jumped in the mud puddles and got filthy!! By we, I mean monkey boy:)



whew, and then there was a nice long overdue nap:)

a day late a dollar short...

More like 7 days late, eep! I love taking pics, my phone or camera is always with me! That being said I always have a ton of pics. Posting them is usually a problem. Thankfully my Blackberry has a photobucket app which helps out a ton! Here are our pics from last weekend. Memorial weekend to be exact. We watched boat races, ate greasy fries, walked in the rain, pouring rain, & monkey got to ride rides and pet goats, llamas, deer & a super duper cute kangaroo. I tried to fit the kangaroo under my sweatshirt to take home, but he kept fighting me... What the heck kanga?? Picture overload to commence!!

I swear, they really were having a good time... Apparently they are over smiling for me. Good thing they're cute anyways!



Monkey watched papa, mow the lawn err, grass as I was corrected from the lil man.



and we made a cake, or ate the cake batter then baked the cake... I know raw eggs and all! But hey, we lived to tell the story.



We drank coffee and chocolate milk. The evidence of the whipped cream on his lips, haha! Got milk??



We went to a tea party, we are soooo refined, we know!



Gaga entertained monkey, while I was being sophisticated!



Then my child prodigy practiced on the piano. He is drawn to anything musical! We need to get this kid in lessons stat!!



AND, these are the best cookies ever! Seriously, the only way they're better is in dark chocolate! Go buy em, now! Or don't then there's more for me.



Okay, that's all folks. Pretty much caught myself up. Now to go shower lightening fast and go interview a new daycare provider for my monkey. Have a ducky day loves!
